Russia and China said on Friday they would oppose any foreign military intervention in North Korea

I think there are only two ways to get the Chinese to give up North Korea without a war:

1. Destabilize China internally so its attention is too distracted

2. Give China strategic concessions comparable in value to an American base on Chinese border, close to the Chinese capital - Namely Taiwan and territorial claims in the South China sea.

so essentially there is none.... nobody can destablize a country as large as china..... and the US is prepared to go too war over Taiwan.......... they have a military agreement saying if china invades Taiwan we automatically are at war with China, besides Russia still has veto power by itself, so destroying international ties and "destabilizing" the world's largest country still won't get UN approval for a invasion in North Korea
