Dumbells are excellent...have you tried super setting your reps, (i.e. for your chest...after completing a set of dumbell flys go directly into a dumbell press as many reps as you can). Super setting will really give you some results. Also, you want to mix up your routines so you're just not repeating the same exercise all the time. Your muscles will get used to a routine...if you're sick, you definitely want to take the time to rest...and to eat....good luck.
