I have a standing rule with religious people: they don't preach to me, I don't preach to them. Usually, we get along with it, but once in a while someone has to come up and tell me the good news about Jesus and I'm forced to tell them about the parts of the Bible they never learned in Sunday school.
Christianity is the only religion I know well enough to be able to say it's wrong, and I'm leaning towards the same with Islam due to the fact that the part of the world where Islam is its strongest is an angry, stone age hell-hole. When it comes to Hinduism, Wicca or whatever other beliefs there are, I simply don't know enough to say either they're absolutely right or absolutely wrong.
I've even tried to do what I can to help my boyfriend find his own path since he feels abandoned by the homophobic church he was raised with. Thing is, it would be damn easy or me to try to make him atheist, but I'm more interested with him being able to give an intelligent answer when people ask what he believes than I am with exactly what it is that he believes.
