Daystar I disagree,as far as the purpose of man according to the bible I believe it's to worship god and fan his ego.Most of the things that we enjoy are considered sins in the scriptures such as fornication,lusting after women,vanity,gluttony etc.
According to the New Testament we are here to do one thing and one thing only:
Romans 8:12,13
12Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.
13For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
When we choose God we are supposed to live for him and no longer live to satisfy or enjoy ourselves according to the "flesh".
Hebrews 12:9:
9Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?
1 Peter 4:2:
2That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.
That is a literal interpretation of the meaning of life according to the bible.Just by being born we have incurred a debt that we did not even own due to Adam and Eves disobedience of God.Now where is the justice in that!That is why I am an atheist I live for me and what makes me happy.
