There is much more to death than ageing- there accidents, cosmic events, violence, starvation, over-population, pollution, and the fact that the universe itself will probably 'die' too. SO if we were able to remove ALL of these factors from the picture, we'd have achieved god-status ourselves. Good luck with that 
What will happen to religion? I guess it will cease to exist: If there is a god/s, we will stop worshipping it/them, because we'd be one of them!
