A contradiction, will be asked on the day of judgement, and will not be asked: http://atheistforums.org/thread-15283.html

there are no contradictions , look here

Quote:Not asked or will be asked?
People will not be asked about their sins:

قَالَ إِنَّمَا أُوتِيتُهُ عَلَىٰ عِلْمٍ عِنْدِي ۚ أَوَلَمْ يَعْلَمْ أَنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ أَهْلَكَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِ مِنَ الْقُرُونِ مَنْ هُوَ أَشَدُّ مِنْهُ قُوَّةً وَأَكْثَرُ جَمْعًا ۚ وَلَا يُسْأَلُ عَنْ ذُنُوبِهِمُ الْمُجْرِمُونَ {78}
[Shakir 28:78] He said: I have been given this only on account of the knowledge I have. Did he not know that Allah had destroyed before him of the generations those who were mightier in strength than he and greater in assemblage? And the guilty shall not be asked about their faults.
[Pickthal 28:78] He said: I have been given it only on account of knowledge I possess. Knew he not that Allah had destroyed already of the generations before him men who were mightier than him in strength and greater in respect of following? The guilty are not questioned of their sins.

فَيَوْمَئِذٍ لَا يُسْأَلُ عَنْ ذَنْبِهِ إِنْسٌ وَلَا جَانٌّ {39}
[Shakir 55:39] So on that day neither man nor jinni shall be asked about his sin.
[Pickthal 55:39] On that day neither man nor jinni will be questioned of his sin.
[Yusufali 55:39] On that Day no question will be asked of man or Jinn as to his sin.

What does this mean, it means that God shall not ask why did you this sin this day, why did you do that. When people come in front of God on the day of Judgment every person shall get book/document with his good and bad deeds, and when they come to God, he shall then ask them formal questions, like Did you pray, what did you do with you life, what deed you do with your youth, what did you do with your money. So God will not ask about their details of their sins because they will be presented in the document. How do I know that, Quran tells us that

God said in the quran:
18:49 The record of their deeds will be laid open and you will see the guilty, dismayed at what they contain, saying, ‘Woe to us! What a record this is! It does not leave any deed, small or large, unaccounted for!’ They will find everything they ever did laid in front of them: your Lord will not be unjust to anyone.

As you can see presentation of the deeds will be in the documents.

Will be asked:

الَّذِينَ جَعَلُوا الْقُرْآنَ عِضِينَ {91}
[Shakir 15:91] Those who made the Quran into shreds.
[Pickthal 15:91] Those who break the Qur'an into parts.
[Yusufali 15:91] (So also on such) as have made Qur'an into shreds (as they please).
فَوَرَبِّكَ لَنَسْأَلَنَّهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ {92}
[Shakir 15:92] So, by your Lord, We would most certainly question them all,
[Pickthal 15:92] Them, by thy Lord, We shall question, every one,
[Yusufali 15:92] Therefore, by the Lord, We will, of a surety, call them to account,
عَمَّا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ {93}
[Shakir 15:93] As to what they did.
[Pickthal 15:93] Of what they used to do.
[Yusufali 15:93] For all their deeds.

Therefore, by the Lord, We will, of a surety, call them to account
Compare to this

18:49 The record of their deeds will be laid open and you will see the guilty, dismayed at what they contain, saying, ‘Woe to us! What a record this is! It does not leave any deed, small or large, unaccounted for!’ They will find everything they ever did laid in front of them: your Lord will not be unjust to anyone.

As you can see, God will call them to account with document , in the document they will find everythind they did. God will not ask why did you do this that day, why did you do that that day and year. No, he just give them documents with all their deeds and then if they say we are responsible for this , they God punish them or forgive them. But if someone say, no this is wrong, then God will make his body talk and witness what he did,

like God said in the quran:
41:20 When they come to it, their own hearing, eyes, and skins will bear witness to everything they had done.
21 They will say to their skins, ‘Why did you testify against us?’ and their skins will reply, ‘God, who gave speech to everything, has given us speech- it was He who created you the first time and to Him you have been returned-

Anas b. Malik relates:

We were in the company of Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) when he laughed until we could see his teeth. He said: “Do you know why I laughed?”

We said: “Allah and His Messenger know best.”

Thereupon he said: “It was because of a talk that a servant will have with his Lord (on the Day of Judgment). He will say: ‘My Lord, have you not guaranteed me protection against injustice?’ He will say: ‘Yes.’ Then the servant will say: ‘I do not deem valid any witness against me but my own self’ He will say: ‘Well enough will be the witness of yourself against you and that of the two angels who had been appointed to record your deeds.’ Then a seal will be set upon his mouth and his hands and feet will be commanded to speak and they would speak of his deeds. Then his mouth would be made free to talk and he will say (to his hands and feet): ‘Be off with you and may you perish. It was for your safety that I contended
.’” [Sahîh Muslim: (2969)]

Quote:وَلَيَحْمِلُنَّ أَثْقَالَهُمْ وَأَثْقَالًا مَعَ أَثْقَالِهِمْ ۖ وَلَيُسْأَلُنَّ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ عَمَّا كَانُوا يَفْتَرُونَ {13}
[Shakir 29:13] And most certainly they shall carry their own burdens, and other burdens with their own burdens, and most certainly they shall be questioned on the resurrection day as to what they forged.
[Pickthal 29:13] But they verily will bear their own loads and other loads beside their own, and they verily will be questioned on the Day of Resurrection concerning that which they invented.
[Yusufali 29:13] They will bear their own burdens, and (other) burdens along with their own, and on the Day of Judgments they will be called to account for their falsehoods.

they will be called to account for their falsehoods , same answer as previous, they will be account with document. There is difference between call to account and ask? When God call to account with documents where their deeds are recorded, then there is no need to asked them for their sins?

Quote:وَلَا تَقْرَبُوا مَالَ الْيَتِيمِ إِلَّا بِالَّتِي هِيَ أَحْسَنُ حَتَّىٰ يَبْلُغَ أَشُدَّهُ ۚ وَأَوْفُوا بِالْعَهْدِ ۖ إِنَّ الْعَهْدَ كَانَ مَسْئُولًا {34}
[Shakir 17:34] And draw not near to the property of the orphan except in a goodly way till he attains his maturity and fulfill the promise; surely (every) promise shall be questioned about.
[Pickthal 17:34] Come not near the wealth of the orphan save with that which is better till he come to strength; and keep the covenant. Lo! of the covenant it will be asked.
[Yusufali 17:34] Come not nigh to the orphan's property except to improve it, until he attains the age of full strength; and fulfil (every) engagement, for (every) engagement will be enquired into (on the Day of Reckoning).

Is covenant a sin? We all know that God will ask some questions about prayer, life, wealth, youth, but not details about sins.

فَلَنَسْأَلَنَّ الَّذِينَ أُرْسِلَ إِلَيْهِمْ وَلَنَسْأَلَنَّ الْمُرْسَلِينَ {6
Quote:}
[Shakir 7:6] Most certainly then We will question those to whom (the messengers) were sent, and most certainly We will also question the messengers;
[Pickthal 7:6] Then verily We shall question those unto whom (Our message) hath been sent, and verily We shall question the messengers.
[Yusufali 7:6] Then shall we question those to whom Our message was sent and those by whom We sent it
.

God says in quran about this:
28:65 On that Day He will call them, saying, ‘How did you respond to My messengers?’

Volume 6, Book 60, Number 14:
Narrated Abu Said Al-Khudri:
Allah's Apostle said, "Noah will be called on the Day of Resurrection and he will say, 'Labbaik and Sa'daik, O my Lord!' Allah will say, 'Did you convey the Message?' Noah will say, 'Yes.' His nation will then be asked, 'Did he convey the Message to you?' They will say, 'No Warner came to us.' Then Allah will say (to Noah), 'Who will bear witness in your favor?' He will say, 'Muhammad and his followers. So they (i.e. Muslims) will testify that he conveyed the Message. And the Apostle (Muhammad) will be a witness over yourselves, and that is what is meant by the Statement of Allah "Thus We have made of you a just and the best nation that you may be witnesses over mankind and the Apostle (Muhammad) will be a witness over yourselves."
