Would I be right in thinking that it's not a relatively large terror organization behind this since a group like Al Qaida would have claimed the attack as their own by now?
Regardless if it was an large organisation like Al Qaeda or a even just a small group. To me this whole terrorist attack has all the hall marks of a Jihadi activity. Because it does not make any sense that somebody like Timothy McVeigh or Ted Kaczynski would target something like the Boston Marathon.

That is because the press generally do not concern themselves with disasters happening far away from when they live. This is despite that these disasters happen almost every day.
