It was reported on CNN tonight during the standoff that US authorities had received reports the older brother had ties to extremist organizations. He was investigated and dismissed as not a threat. It was also reported that he spent 6 months in Chechnya last year. He might have ties to the separatist movement over there.

Having said that I am interested in seeing how the government treats the younger brother now that they have him in custody. He is naturalized US citizen entitled to certain rights under the law. Does he get a lawyer, or does he get shipped off to some military brig to be interrogated? Your move Mr. President.
