The percentage of the U.S. that is Muslims is only .8% Since Sociopathy is more or less evenly distributed amongst populations, if this crime was caused by the suspects being sociopaths who just wanted to kill people, the chance of those sociopaths being Muslim is also .8%. You then have to keep in mind there were in fact that this was done by two people. So in fact the chance that both of them were just out to cause random mayhem decreases even more than that.

I'm not entirely sure I understand your use of statistics here. What exactly are you trying to show?

The chances of sociopaths being Muslim (.8%) doesn't affect the chances of the attackers being sociopaths. I mean, the chances of sociopaths being Christian would be something like 90% (assuming 90% of the population are Christian), but that doesn't mean Christians are more likely to be sociopaths.
