Just because there are several of them does not mean they are not wrong. People used to believe that "sin" caused plagues....didn't make them right no matter how many "believed" it.

I completely agree and I was only able to leave because I won't be told what is right by any number of people if the evidence proves otherwise.
The bbq'd babies replies demonstrate what drove me away from religion in the first place. Rather than defending their beliefs with reason and fact, my former religion would also throw wild accusations and resort to arbitrary insults at its opposers. If you are so sure that you're right why would you fear the possibility of being proven wrong?
