Hi there! Even as an atheist in a Christian family I am concerned with losing relationships and even one disowning me when they figure out I've made up my mind on the matter. I also had a friend in high-school tormented with his sexual orientation and the JW disowning rule. He tried for year's because he loved his family enough to suppress who he WAS and who they knew him to be since elementary school; it simply blew my mind when I heard that they finally did disown him eventually.
In any case, Welcome! I'm newish to atheism but I've found a network of very good sane people here and I like it alot it helps with the things that give you up as a result of nonbelief..

If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!
Dead wrong. The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.
I say again: No exceptions. Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it. As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.
Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite.
