(AKA, why photography also makes me horny).
By the title, I could come up with a rather long list, but this one is near and dear to my heart and produces a special sort of rage, perhaps because natural beauty was instrumental in me finally giving up grasping on to Judaism.
When I was still hanging out with more theists than non-theists and listening to a lot of (mostly Southern Baptist flavored) opinions, I heard a stunning amount of shit about how horrible the world is, and how much better the hereafter will be. Some of them were saying this because of human action, but more than a few referred to the world itself. This link came up in my feedly file and I'd like to take a minute to remind you all that most of us will never know even a 10th part of what this beautiful, magnificent world has to offer. It is not any less beautiful to me for lacking the belief that it was made specially for humanity - in fact, it's possibly much more brilliant and beautiful for knowing that it isn't.
I can't change the mind that would rather devote itself to metaphysical matters and not to the glorious things that surround them, but I hope spreading things like this around will give them pause...if they're not too busy crying about how "god made it". Many of these instances are humans and nature working together.
I can only post 10 images here, and there are 22. I highly recommend you click through for the rest.
