Goodnews: You're dangerously close to if not outright in the middle of "no true scotsman" territory.
There's a reason there's so many doctrines of Christianity; because the thing is so poorly written and so contradictory that you have to choose Option A or Option B when considering different passages, and depending on which option you choose will dictate which sect you are a part of. You can pretend to be "unaligned" but the truth is if I grilled you on the excessively numerous [to the point of being unworthy of any further attention in any other case but for some reason mass-delusion gets a free pass; go figure] deviations and contradictions and where you stand on each of them, I would be able to pin you down for one of the hundreds of sects of Christianity, and no matter how much you might kick and scream about how you don't fit the label, you would fit it to a T...which is fitting, given your fairy tale's incredibly cliche "hero's death" scene when he got nailed to a T himself...
As for TGWAQ: Welcome to the forum. I've experienced something similar, though I didn't linger at church for very long after I dropped my faith.
