Because you understand something incorrectly, does not make it a contradiction ????? All TRANSLATIONS of the scriptures have faults ???? It is foolishness to discredit the original script because men made mistakes { some intentional } in later translations ??? If you are truthfull and not biased, you would seek to discredit the volume of Hebrew and Greek scriptures, as so many others have tried and failed. ps: The above translation is correct and so is your assumption, FAITH is a gift from God which believers HOPE for . "christiandom" does not teach this, but this is not a contradiction of scripture, but a contradiction of men .
