Nice try at apologetics. Unfortunately, almost all of Job chapter 38 conflicts with your assessment, and the whole thing is a rebuke of Job's assessment that the earth is "suspended over nothing" Job 26:7.
That's why chapter 38 starts out:
1Then the Lord spoke to Job out of the storm. He said:
2“Who is this that obscures my plans with words without knowledge?3Brace yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer me. 4“Where were you when I laid the earth’s foundation? Tell me, if you understand.
Before I go any further, is it, at all, embarassing that god was wrong and Job was right(ish)?
Just wanted your take on that.
Anyway, the chapter goes on to make several references to a flat earth:
verse 5: 5Who marked off its dimensions? Surely you know! Who stretched a measuring line across it?
verses 8-11: Who shut up the sea behind doors when it burst forth from the womb, when I made the clouds its garment and wrapped it in thick darkness, when I fixed limits for it and set its doors and bars in place, when I said, ‘This far you may come and no farther; here is where your proud waves halt’?
Note: see sig.
Verse 13: that it might take the earth by the edges and shake the wicked out of it?
Note: Spheres do not have edges. Just saying.
Verse 14: The earth takes shape like clay under a seal; its features stand out like those of a garment.
Example:
verse 19: What is the way to the abode of light? And where does darkness reside?
Answer: a little place science likes to call the otherside of the planet. LOL.
The truth is, the book of Job, specifically chapter 38, would not make canon by the highly selective standards of the ecclesiastical authority. Unfortunately for Christianity, the decision to include it, and several other books that defy science, was made long before science became THE standard.
Oh well, too late.
