God determines the punishment according to His judgement, I do not believe God ever claimed to have a democratic government, such a government comes from man because of man's flawed sense of justice, so the more that are actually involved in the government the fairer laws will be. God being perfect does not need anyone to tell Him how to govern, Satan did not like it and you see where that got Him and us. Satan like nonbelievers thought/think they can do better to meet their selfish desires. So duh, we now have hell as part of life.
My point is that yes, I would object to a government determining punishment for crimes, if that government conducted itself like your god does. Your initial response tried to make me sound absurd by equivocating that I'd object to a normal, democratic government determining punishments for normal crimes. That's a flawed analogy.
