RE: Raspberry Pi anyone?

I ended up buying a new 32" TV for $200. I bid on a few used TV's on eBay, but like everything else, the ones in good condition were going for prices that were near the price of a new TV on sale, and the advantages of buying new are obvious.
It's an Insignia, which is Best Buy's store brand. (I bought a 26" Insignia several years ago, and at the time, I was told the one I purchased was a rebadged LG.) I haven't bought the Raspberry Pi yet, mainly because they're more expensive than I had initially figured; not enough more to matter, but enough to make me hesitate. I need to check out the TV itself before I go any further (it arrived today).
I could throw together a simple HTPC, but the size and additional work makes something like the Raspberry Pi preferable. (WD TV Live media appliances are selling for $40+ on eBay, but I want more control over the display behavior than such devices offer.)
Anyway, I'm feeling sickly, so it may be a few days before I deal with the new tv. (And I finally settled on a 10" tablet. I purchased an Acer Iconia for about $230, refurbed. It's not everything I wanted, but it's about half the price of the Asus Transformer Infinity that I wanted.)
