I don't worry too terribly much what other people believe. I just have two requirements I want people to meet with their beliefs (or lack thereof).
1) Have an intelligent, well thought out reason for your beliefs
2) Don't force your beliefs onto other people, especially against their will
So, as of now, I'd rather someone be a Christian who can give intelligent reasons for being a Christian than an atheist who is an atheist simply because that's what their parents taught them to be. Along that same vein, I'd rather someone be a Christian who keeps it to theselves than an atheist who is obnoxious and forces atheisim down peoples' throats whether they like it or not.
That being said, I don't see that happenig too often. I hear stories from Faux News and other right wing sources of atheism being forced on people, but I can never fact check them (or when I do, there's some huge details they left out). And I've always found that if you give it real intelligent thought, you usually wind up identifying somewhere in the atheist/agnostic/deist realm. So it's kinda a wash.
