I think the real underlying issue, which we were sort of getting around to, is the concept of "slave wagery". No matter what, there's no good way for us lower-middle class people to avoid the hourly slog to survive. That's inescapable and you're right in that respect Rhizo; the idea you take to work makes no physical difference in the world. And we can't all get a job that's benefits others, or does something good, that wasn't the real issue.
The issue is the fact that we're working for "slave wages". Because our pays are so small so as to barely keep us comfortable in living standards, while there are mega dollars in so few hands. Where's the ethical dimention to that? And how can you support such a system that keeps you chasing a carrot on a stick? This is the issue, and that's where the motivation comes from.
