I guess according to Drich I'm just a d-bag though because I haven't been down in the thick of things. I mean, sure I'm saving lives by listening in and jamming enemy comm networks, but since I'm not down in the action, I must be the biggest asshole to think I'm worthy of the title of "Veteran".
You're damn right. Who cares what Drich thinks anyway.
I worked my ASS off. Back to back 8 month deployments on the flightdeck in support of OEF and OIF. We were trolling around The Persian Gulf and the Ariabian Sea, 14 hr work days with not a single day off, up to 90 consecutive days without seeing land. 160 degree heat index, long sleeve shirts drenched in sweat and arms worn raw from locking arms under bombs and throwing them up on jets to be dropped in support of ALL our boys, not just Americans, but everyone sucked into the same fight. Over 40 Aircraft blowing high temp exhausts around only 4.5 acres of deck. I've seen catastrophic disasters ranging from limbs being ripped off to decapitations. I don't know what Drich calls that, and really, I don't know what to call it either. But I do know that anyone worried about giving it a title doesn't know a fucking thing about what it means to have done it. Here's some pictures if anyone cares to see...
People can call it whatever they want. I really don't give a shit.
