I don't believe in god and have no time for organised religion.

If you don't believe in god, you are an atheist (it's the definition).

I do believe in evolution but i find it hard to believe in the whole 'there was absolutely eff all, ever, then a boom' thing.

I've never heard of a scientific idea where "there was absolutely eff all, ever, then a boom' thing". Do you mean the Big Bang theory? If you read up on what the Big Bang theory says, I assure you it is very different from your somewhat childish (no offence) description.
