I hate that the name "Big Bang" stuck. I mean, it sounds cool and everything (I know the name was originally meant to mock the theory) but it's got nothing to do with the theory at all. Bangs require space for sound to move through, and the "Big Bang" was the expansion of space...there was nothing for sound to make any noise in!

Actually Adrian, sound requires air molecules, that's why there's no sound in space.
