Let me explain, people believed hundreds of years ago that since lightning kept striking churches and that there was a lot of superstitious idiots, they believed women were responsible for lightning hitting churches and so many women believed to be witches were drowned.
Now since no one really understood how energy works, they never realized that churches happen to be one of thee tallest buildings around and have the greatest chance of being struck....turns out all they needed was a simple lightning rod which was finally provided by science
So religion owes science on that.I'm not sure how far back this idiot thing went.
