If you care about little ol' my opinion, I always took you for female. Why is it best not getting into? Have you got some kind of notion that being transgender is "bad" for you as well?
Quote:Oh..... Kay. Who the fuck cares about your fucking opinion (about fucking)? I don't like porn, and thank you for your permission, I don't watch it. Nobody is making me, except for the CK and Abercrombie ads...Actually, it wasn't an opinion about fucking, it was an opinion about watching people fucking. What I think pisses people off Pippy, is that you come into these threads and act like you have a PhD is whateverthefuckwearetalkingaboutology from the university of Ijustmadeallmyfactsup (I think it's in Russia).
If you don't like my opinion on porn, who the fuck cares? Don't listen to my opinion, no on is making you.
You say you "feel deeply obliged" to inform us that pornography, of which I suspect you know little about as it is (you certainly don't know anything about video games or tv...or 9/11 for that matter), is bad for us. You do this with a tone that comes across as condescending at best.
You claim afterwards that it is "all opinion" but it never comes across that way, and hence seems to the rest of us like you are taking a position of "higher authority", which is generally why we question you (also because your facts make little to no sense).
If you present your opinion as fact, people will call you on it. As an example, let me convert your previous statements about porn from factual assertion to mere opinion:
Pippy in another reality Wrote:I know it is old hat now, but in my honest opinion, I think porn is bad for you, and that we should come to terms with what it does to our sexuality and relationships with each other. Isn't this really getting old? Seriously though, I don't think there are few things worse than porn. In my view it's worse than TV and video games put together! It comes across as objectification, desensitization, dominance, and some of the grossness already gone over previously in this thread.
I think we should have quiet, polite sex when no one is looking, and then not discuss it afterward...
See? Doesn't that both read better and sound better? You don't assert random opinions as if they are true, you just present them in a opinionated form (which of course, as opinions, they should be). This paragraph is one where someone can respond "Pippy, I respectfully disagree with your opinion" instead of responding "Pippy, you abuse facts and act like a know-it-all prick."
If you want to discuss opinions and not provide evidence, I don't think many will mind. It's when you assert facts of nature as if they were created to agree with the "will of Pippy" that we challenge them.
Quote:Do I have to post links to prove porn is bad for us, and then be called into question, or can I just not and skip a step?If you want to retract your earlier statements as opinion, then no. If you want to "prove" porn is bad for you, as you seem to indicate here, then yes, we require evidence. I'm afraid not all of us subscribe to the "will of Pippy" as our belief system.
