You just mentioned Saerules' gender identity issues and made it seem like you were "against" them like you are drugs / tv, etc. Thanks for clearing that up.Quote:Why is it best not getting into? Have you got some kind of notion that being transgender is "bad" for you as well?Because I would rather not discuss my identity issues with such a rude and immature crowd. I think identity disorder is "bad for you", yes. But it does not carry fault, it is not my or SAE's fault. We did nothing wrong, but I suppose it is difficult and dangerous, so it is kind of "bad". It certainly is unpleasant.
Quote:As I've said before, opinions I don't mind. It's people with opinions who seem to want to force their opinion down your throat as if it is *ahem* "gospel". Backing up your opinions with arguments, and presenting evidence for anything you assert is a good start. Most of us here left religion because we found no evidence, and were met with just bare assertions and hearsay, so you can understand why we don't like people to just state something as if it is fact without the slightest shred of proof.Quote:What I think pisses people off Pippy, is that you come into these threads and act like you have a PhD is whateverthefuckwearetalkingaboutology from the university of Ijustmadeallmyfactsup (I think it's in Russia).I am not trying to sound like I have a PhD, but only trying to share my opinion like everyone in the conversation who came before me. If I come across as full-of-myself, than I apologize and will try harder in the future.
Quote:If you are very tired of being the crazy guy who disagrees with everything, I put that an atheist forums wasn't the best choice you could have made. We are skeptics, rationalists, and empiricists (mostly). We value reason, not superstition, and we do not abide conspiracy. When your opinions are as strong as they are, you will find disagreement in most places online. I think the only thing we seem to agree on is government transparency.Quote:You say you "feel deeply obliged" to inform us that pornography, of which I suspect you know little about as it is (you certainly don't know anything about video games or tv...or 9/11 for that matter), is bad for us. You do this with a tone that comes across as condescending at best. The 'deeply obliged' thing was misunderstood. I don't mean that I have information that is perfect, and I feel the need to inform you of the right way. I meant that I am very tired of being 'the crazy guy that disagrees with everything' (you even made up an insulting award for me to win), but for porn I feel moved to add my opinion, knowing you guys will not like it. I actually know a lot about porn, unfortunately. When I was a junkie I had a very unhealthy relationship with porn. Very unhealthy. But I got over it, and have spent a lot of time chatting with porn addicts, learning about that paradigm. I also volunteer with survivors of incest abuse, that is a dark world. I feel that I also know a lot about TV and 9/11 and video games, but certainly not more than yourself (I wouldn't want to offend).
I'm confused about this award I made up for you to win though. What are you talking about? You won the Most Opinionated forum award by a vote. I didn't set it up for you, the staff just came up with a few ideas.
You may know more than me on TV, 9/11, and video games. If what you say is true, then evidently you do know more. The problem is that when asked to provide evidence, you skip around it. On the 9/11 issue, the disagreement goes deeper, since evidence has been provided, but I think it has been refuted. The problem is that both sides have massive amounts of contentions on various issues, and it takes too long to go through every single one.
