Why can't, if you're very 'one sex' in your mind can't you be happy with 'another sex' body? Obviously examples show that individuals feel the need for the gender identifications to match. What about everyone else on the scale? Only those on the extremes are catered for. The rest have to be satisfied with compromise.

I don't think that sex is a black/white issue at all... but that in most cases it conforms to a recognizable pattern of shared gender-sex.
