Weird. Nobody ever minded when *I* necroposted 
I felt it was more of a general propriety rule (they may not be here, so one shouldn't demand answers of those who cannot respond) than something to get one's panties in a twist about.
Guidelines are guidelines... necroposting is against ze forum guidelines, but it's hardly a banable offense. I mean... one would have to break other rules (in this case sock-puppeteering isn't unlikely, trolling is certain, maybe he insulted someone personally) in conjunction with a necropost. Necroposts aren't even disruptive, they're just against the social protocol
But yeah... that looked incredibly extreme if it really was over necroposting alone
