Was it for their penchant to cram prayers into cracks or what?Glad you asked brakey, because the only thing I like more than God (As a study subject) is History. The following is a very brief synopsis touching on the high points. Alot more actually happened..
The Nazi party began the rise to power in 1920's Germany because the German people were being oppressed by the League of Nations. As a member they were being forced to pay for the damages caused in WWI. This meant the vast majority of what Germany produced and collected in Taxes were given over to this european organization, which Key members in the Nazi party pointed out it was supposedly run and controlled by Jews.
They also pointed out that the Jews also owned and controlled all of the 'Money' in Germany, and while the non jew german struggled and starved, the Jews prospered (or so said their properganda.) The Nazi's used the hate of the Jews to rally and reunify the broken nation. The Jews were looked at as the primary reason (Because they were dehumanized and turned into a plague of roach people who were sucking that country dry.) That Germany was not a world power.
Once the Germans came together they broke away from thier 'obligations,' and started to funel their money into community projects (Their Autobahn/Highway system, "The People's car" Or VW Beetle, was also to be apart of that program.) They fed and clothed their hungry and homeless and began to provide utilities and basic services to their country, once the infrastructure was rebuilt they began to fire up the factories and put a massive army together, as a result many prospered.
With all of the 'good' they were doing the Nazi party was looked at as a momument of 'Morality.' They did so much 'good' the german people (on mass) stopped asking questions. So when they reached their Zenith in the late 20's early 30's, and the Nazis told them they had to round up the Jews and place them in 'ghettos' so they could be regulated and watched. it was a non-issue, because this great 'moral' soceity that told them what to do in the past that produced so much 'good' was beyond question. Because they had intrest of the German people at heart.
Then the Nazis took the next step. Because the Jews were not allowed to work with the general public on mass, they became wards of the state or a severe drain on resources. (The Jews became what the Nazis said they were.) So the Nazis put them to work Under slave conditions. which was fine for a while, but the deteroration of the Jews became an issue to they were moved from Gettos to Consentration camps. Where is became every Father land loving German 'Moral obligation' to turn out any Jews who might have been over looked. Then it became Every Father Land loving German's obligation to carry out the 'final solution' to the Jewish problem. So that the German Reich could prosper and rule the world for a 1000 years. Then It became every able bodied Father Land loving German's 'Moral obligation" to serve in the 'army' and help the Father land to take over the rest of europe and Asia.
Where did the Nazi Leaders come up with this model of effiency of destruction and oppression of a lessor race occupying the same country? In Hitler's writtings He sights how well this work for the United States, when dealing with the Native Americans just one or two generations prior. We rounded them up put them in camps and starved and infected the native Americans till all but a small percent remained. This too was the 'Moral' responsiablity of the US Goverment and people to realize our "Manifest Destiny." (To span the North American continant.)

Quote: Where did the Nazi "moral" come from?
From popular belief, pride and a general sense of entitlement. The same place ALL "Morality" comes from.
That is why 'Morality' is a crap standard.
