This says a lot. Because you would much rather be something you are not does not make you what you wish to be. I would much rather be a midget. I 'self-identify' as a midget so is it justifiable if I go around identifing myself as a midget? A midget trapped in a average height body?

If you self-identified as a midget, then you would be a midget (at least in your view). If you lived your life as though you were a midget, and constantly hit your head on things as a result, then you would be experiencing a similar problem as transexuals.

Gender identity (i.e. the feeling to be male or to be female) is an important trait of a subject. Transsexuals experience themselves as being of the opposite sex, despite having the biological characteristics of one sex (19, 20, 21)

Simply, if you experience yourself as being a midget, despite having the physical characteristics of an average height person: you are a "midget trapped inside the body of some weird tall person".

My reality is that I'm a girl, all that others' not seeing me as such does is depress me :S My body is that of a man... but my body is not a part of who I am, at least not yet. I think I've explained this before in another thread? :S
