It is NOT silly to think that theists' beliefs in purported commands from god could become a trigger. We see religious violence daily all around the world.
Much, if not most, violence in the world has nothing at all to do with theism or atheism. Only when either are invoked does it matter. Theism rather often invokes violence, atheism does so rarely as to be extreme.
Whining about exceptions is dishonest as it avoids or shrouds the obvious disparity between the group. The disparity exists.
