Something we share is the lack of belief in the loch Ness monster. However there are no discussion boards for "a-nessies" to get together and discuss their lack of belief...
Why is that?
The Loch Ness Monster is a small enough topic to fit in a few threads on a paranormal skepticism board. Cryptids and other paranormal claims altogether merit an entire discussion board, and those exist.
I suppose Nessie alone could support a discussion board if enough people believed in her strongly enough to keep enough conversations going with skeptics to support a whole board.

From what you say it sounds as if atheism in this context is defined at least in part by an opposition to religion, rather than merely lacking it oneself. Is that correct?
Opposition to religion would be anti-religionism. Some people say antitheism, but that would be more specifically being against people believing in God/gods rather than religion. Interestingly, one would not necessarily have to be an atheist to be an antireligionist.
Fun fact: I'm a member of a religion.
