Why are atheists disrespectful?
Some argue that they are not and I totally agree that some atheists are respectful, conservative, and contribute to our society. But then, I scroll through the internet finding disrespectful images, blogs, and videos that bash on Christians.
Why do disrespectful atheists ask for respect when they don't give it back?
Do you guys all remember the golden rule?
Treat others the way you would like to be treated.
The golden rule isn't even religious based. It's just a culture-based morality that follows the guidelines of many (if not all) religions.
It makes me upset and flustered when atheists complain about not getting respect when in reality, they don't return it.....
Anyways, just my thoughts.
Feel free to talk about your ideas; I'm interested in hearing some concepts.
Have a good one!
Did you ever stop to think that perhaps atheists are showing the exact same level of respect that the religious and their religions show them?
I mean, why are you whining to us about the golden rule when religious people seek to discriminate and demean non-believers? What level of respect should be shown to an idea that says I deserve to be tortured for eternity? What level of respect should be show to an idea that is the large majority of the force behind homosexuals being denied equal rights?
Forget the golden rule. That should only apply when dealing with someone that you haven't interacted with. Once someone shows a certain amount of disrespect, I see no reason why I should continue to treat them in a respectful manner.
