Listen I know I've been curt. I wanna keep the discussion on track and not drag it out too long into the ethics of slavery, anthropology and culture, etc.
Suffice to say that I don't think all slavery is on par with American slavery in conduct or ethics.
Your argument is that God-ordained slavery cannot be compared to being a police officer or owning a gun? That wasn't, properly speaking, the comparison being made. The comparison was between the use of a particular entity or object (a religious book, a gun, an occupation) against a group of people that did not necessarily mean that one should reject the entity or object.
If a comparison can be made, then my argument is valid. If you think a comparison cannot be made, then explain why.
