Why are atheists disrespectful?
Some argue that they are not and I totally agree that some atheists are respectful, conservative, and contribute to our society. But then, I scroll through the internet finding disrespectful images, blogs, and videos that bash on Christians.
Why do disrespectful atheists ask for respect when they don't give it back?
Do you guys all remember the golden rule?
Treat others the way you would like to be treated.
The golden rule isn't even religious based. It's just a culture-based morality that follows the guidelines of many (if not all) religions.
It makes me upset and flustered when atheists complain about not getting respect when in reality, they don't return it.....
Anyways, just my thoughts.
Feel free to talk about your ideas; I'm interested in hearing some concepts.
Have a good one!
There is a difference between mocking/making fun of certain beliefs/pointing out inconsistencies and being disrespectful. Just because you may not like the jokes that are made or the things they point out to "bash" your religion doesn't mean it's disrespectful. I find that any time anyone points out anything bad or wrong or inconsistent with Christianity, it's all of a sudden disrespectful. It's not though really, and Christians need to be more willing to challenge their beliefs. Also, for the most part, the only time I have seen atheists be mean or lash out against Christians here is when the Christians either threw the insults first, tried ramming their beliefs down the atheists' throats, or just flat out refused to listen to reason. Truly though, it can go both ways.
