When I tried to explain that evolution was fundamental to medicine he was in serious denial. He ended up arguing the fact with two doctors and a nurse who works in immunology . . .
Hell, you wouldn't even need to go that far, because even if only scientists used it in their jobs, that still plainly puts evolution at home in science classrooms, part of the purpose of which is to prepare students for potential careers in science!
I wonder if that same line of reasoning could be used in other things: don't bother teaching math outside of the basic stuff, since you probably won't use it in your career. Drop art, because only artists use that. English classes better go, only writers really use those.
