Maybe one day they could clone a brain from a single cell - but that wouldn't retain any of the memories or experiences of the original. It wouldn't be you any more than a twin is.

Might they one day find a way to back-up memories and experiences to restore them later to another brain - biological or machine? Dunno - maybe.

Does that get us any closer to heaven/god etc?

Before you use words like God or Heaven and Hell etc you should 1'st of all settle down a little question of whether an afterlife exists or not. heh?

I doubt that the atheist can ever explain something simply. All you atheist do is play games with semantics and hate on Christians who are trying to save you all from an eternity of hellfire. All you atheist spend so much time fantasizing about rape and snuff porn so maybe you think hell will not be that bad. I however have seen hell in nightmares when I was struggling with doubt years ago. The LORD loved me enough to send visions of hell to keep me. To keep me in his loving embrace. In hell people are tortured and burn in fire nonstop. Demons constantly rip people's wretched and filthy flesh from their bones, which quickly regenerates so they can endure the horrible ordeal they earned through sin over and over again for eternity.
