(December 10, 2013 at 3:12 pm)I am God Wrote: I do find it odd that Christians seem to cling to the Republican party. I don't think Jesus would have been in favor of Assault Weapons and cutting spending on programs that feed and shelter the poor. But modern Christian/Republicans seem to be nuts for such ideas. You'll have to read Plato's republic and get a feel for how Socrates felt about government to get a better idea. 500 years after Plato wrote about Socrates, the Jesus character was created to emulate him. Of course, Socrates would probably not find it agreeable that he was the basis of a character used to describe a man, who above all else, stood for the thing he despised most. Nobody pretended to more outrageous claims of unsustainable knowledge more than Jesus, and nobody makes more unsupportable declarations of wisdom than those made in the name of Christianity. If I could pay to see two literary characters have a discussion, it would be to see Socrates examine Jesus. I wonder what Socrates would have to say on faith.
I wonder if Jesus would have been a democrat?
