Yes, there is. Let's see if you can figure out what it is. I'll give you a hint, in one case, you're directing an invective at a single person, where on the other hand you're directing it at a whole class of persons whom that single person happens to be a member of in your eyes. Put more succinctly, it's the difference between insulting one person vs insulting the same person and a whole lot of others at the same time.
That you don't see that as a bad thing is YOUR character flaw, not mine.
