There is no other option at the moment. We continue targeting and killing the bad guys the best we can until a more efficient way of doing it is developed. But ignoring the terrorist threat and pretending it doesn't exist is no solution at all.

You should really read that FBI report I posted earlier. You know, the one where it clearly demonstrated that terrorism is only really a problem in the two countries we invaded. Everywhere else it's a very very rare occurrence.

We went into Afghanistan because the Taliban was allowing Osama Bin Laden and Al Qaeda to headquarter, recruit, and operate terrorist training camps there. From Afghanistan, Osama Bin Laden planned and carried out the 911 attacks on the Twin Towers and on the Pentagon. When the U.S. demanded that the Taliban either turn over Bin Laden or lose power, they decided they'd rather gamble on losing power than give up Bin Laden. Bin Laden escaped the invasion and hid in Pakistan where we eventually went and killed him....It's better to kill the terrorists where ever else they may be than have to deal with them over here.
