That's fine, but consider that if humans had never farmed pigs and other edible animals, for the purpose of eating them (amongst many, many other things), most if not all the species currently competing for Best In Show at butchers and supermarkets everywhere would in all likelihood be extremely endangered now, if not extinct altogether.
On a side note: as an analogy for the difference between "contribution" and "commitment", you can't get any better than bacon and eggs. The chicken makes a contribution; the pig makes a commitment.
