Quote: If you look Nineteen, I DID ask you about a verse in the quaran, back in post 37. Did you perchance fail to spot that one or did you not wish to comment on it.
Quote:I think you added this question subsequently by editing your post .
Didn't spot it then, Fair nuff.
Quote:I'm not very familier with your holy book, but perhaps you could explain to me the meaning of 002.193
"And fight them until persecution is no more, and religion is for Allah"
Quote:You're not familier my holy book , so you're not familiar with my religion , but you can dare to judge my religion without having enough knowledge about it .
LOL, you asked me to provide a quote from the quaran! And if you look carefully I merely asked you to explain the meaning of something to me. Do all muslims respond so aggressively to requests for knowledge?
Quote:So you admit that you're completely behaving according to your feelings , you just dont like Islam and Muslims and this is enough reason to hate them .Oh I admit I don't like Islam. Muslims I take on a case by case basis
But the fact that they've let off bombs in my capital city sort of predisposes me to not thing well of them. And the video I saw of a 12 year old boy beheading a bound prisoner whilst chanting praise allah, (or whatever it was) was a bit of a turn off too.
Quote:2:193 You may also fight them to eliminate oppression, and to worship GOD freely. If they refrain, you shall not aggress; aggression is permitted only against the aggressors. Now isn't that interesting. Your translation of that verse is very different to the one I found. Why is that? Are some of the translations more reliable than others. You must admit that :-
what kind of person would be uncomfortable due to this verse , oppresive and persecutor one .
I could easily understand these verses while I was 7-8 years old , but you cant understand . Actually you can understand , you just dont want to understand .
Quote:You may also fight them to eliminate oppression, and to worship GOD freely.
is very different from
Quote:"And fight them until persecution is no more, and religion is for Allah
Which translation is more accurate? I was under the impression that the qua'an referred to allah always by name and never simply as God.
Why is that? If you tell me which translation I should use then I shall know to avoid the misleading ones.
