As others have already said, there is no such thing as being a 'follower of atheism'.
Atheism is not a dogma, has no doctrine, no holy text, nothing to worship, etc. It is not a worldview. It is a single position on one claim.
Belief is defined by contemporary analytic philosophers of mind as - the psychological state in which an individual holds a conjecture or premise to be true.
Theism is the psychological state in which an individual holds the premise that a god or gods exist to be true.
Atheism is NOT accepting the premise that a god or gods exist to be true. Full stop.
To repeat, it's a single position on a single claim.
So, whether you accept the label or not, if you don't currently hold that at least one god exists to be true, you are an atheist. Call yourself whatever you want.

You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.
