This is what I've heard - they're under so much pressure to appear happy and well-off and to basically be the perfect person with the perfect family all so it reflects well on the LDS church.

I don't know how much blame can be put directly on the LDS church for the high suicide rate (UT is also the highest, or among the highest, state in terms of people on anti-depressive medications I think), but I'm sure at least some of it can be attributed to the pressures put on people by the church and the need to always be the perfect example of a Mormon.

I'm in a theological discussion with a Mormon online right now and I've gotten the impression that she's not very party line... but I'm not now, nor have I ever been Mormon and I don't know the details of the doctrine so she could be completely theologically correct in the bat shit crazy things she's saying... :p
