Maybe the 'tall' person is actually 'fill in the blank' (something entirely otherwise), and can't be seen for what he truly is because he's had a label applied by others who want to corner him. BTW, I have no 'hang-up' or 'baggage' associated with labels - I simply 'reject' them.
ETA: Oops, did I just place a label on you? Limiting isn't it?
Human beings have many attributes. Calling someone tall because they're over 7' does not limit them, it only defines one of their many attributes as a human being.
If I met someone that is over 7' tall, I would not define their entire being based on the tall label that defines that one attribute (of many) the person has.
Nor does calling someone that does not believe in gods an atheist limit them. It only describes one of their many attributes as a human being.
You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.
