You are way off. Money is only a means for us to enjoy our favorite past-time....

Bombing the shit out of relatively helpless people that pose no serious existential threat.

Well, you do get more than what you pay for. America has established a presence in the natural-resource heavy regions of the Middle east and Central Asia. That was the point all along. There is no shame in that, and money spent in that direction is in my opinion, money well spent.

Quote:What else holds ANY nation together but the promise of wealth?
Common history, language, heritage, blood and etc.
Just take the Poles as an example. The Polish nation is in my opinion, a model that every nation ought to follow when it comes to solidarity, and hope.
They have been defeated and fractured several times, and have faced numerous hardships, including the tide of communism.
But they have held firm.

As for America, America isn't really a nation. It is a collection of people of varying backgrounds that is held together by materialism.
Quote:Without fair taxation, those with money will sit upon untold capital while their fellows starve, receive poor education and never escape the cycle of poverty.
Well, I personally think that in America, both the poor and the rich share the same mindset. Even the poor do not shy away from screwing those who are poorer than themselves, in order to move up in the social ladder.
This is how America is. So how can you blame the Rich, who have faced the hardships of such a system while attaining their current position to actually symphatize with anyone, while not even the poor sympathize with the other poor?
Other than that, there are also the economical aspects to consider...
How would your "fair taxation" policies affect the economical system that the US is built upon? How would Wall Street and the Stock exchange be affected by this? How would the companies react? How would it affect foreign investment? How would it affect domestic investment?
Like okay, you talk about fair taxation, but you already have an established economical system that is built on a number of tenets, all of which affect other parts of the government.
Quote:Yes, but the problem with the republibertarianeo-conazis is that when confronted with an inconvenient law to the amassing of their personal stash of money they simply jerk the leashes on the congressmen they have purchased and voila! That which was illegal becomes legal...and morality doesn't matter at all.
Well, they're doing what is best by them. They were raised in a system where the amassing of personal stash of money is the highest goal for an individual, so they're just being a good American by doing everything in their power to sway things in their favor.
