Yeah, a lot of the time. And sometimes, when their reasons aren't as dumb, they still have a habit of falling for dumb pseudo-science from groups like PETA. I knew a girl who was vegan because she didn't want to support cruelty to animals, and I can respect that (even if I don't agree with her), but then she started preaching all this crap from PETA videos like it's undeniable fact. It wasn't even 5 minutes into one of them when I realized they fucked up big time.

If you want to talk about health benefits, though, that's a damn big advantage vegans have over non-vegans. They tend to have issues with protein, but their cholesterol levels are amazing compared to ours. And, anyway, any vegan with a little sense knows how to get protein, anyway.

I go with almond milk both because of my intolerance and because I simply never really cared for the taste of cow milk. I'm definitely not vegetarian or vegan, though. I like cheese too much to care that it occasionally makes my ass blow up.

I've always prefered regular old skim milk. Tried vegan alternatives to milk with soy milk and soy cheese. The soy milk was alright for cooking or for cereal, but tasted like ass if you drank it straight. Vegan cheese was just plain gross to me.

Some of us are capable of getting our protein and cholesterol from milk (self included) I am to understand it comes down to genetics. Agree that "Soy and Almond milk" tastes like crap...at least for me. Did have the pleasure of full cream "straight from the cow" milk when I was younger and it did taste YUM! Big Grin which leads me to wonder IF EVERYBODY is capable of synthesising (up to) 80% of dietary necessary cholesterol? Meaning that, while all the studies are all well and good they are rather generic in their findings and people/ bodies are not necessarily going to just all follow suit just because some science paper on nutrition says so.

As for those who delight in espousing the virtues of PETA et al. They are just coming across as religious nutjobs and don't do much for the advancement of humane behaviour towards animals at all. Here in Oz they are largely ignored by the general populace....we have plenty to spare, would you like some? They could become the next Hamster or Cumfart. Devil
