People's views change over time. You cannot quote Darwin before he lost his faith and expect to actually make a valid point here.
Darwin was well known to have lost his Christian faith when his daughter Annie died, and he accepted a form of atheistic agnosticism. He didn't recant on his deathbed, and according to his family, he died a non-believer.
