Rome 2 was definitely different. after Shogun 2, I wasn't used to having to fight as hard just to take a settlement. expansion is considerably slower. I do like the Champion agent though, since s/he can give troops experience over time. Even in peace time, my troops would continue gaining experience. In M2 I'm pretty much constantly at war. In S2, I'd have to choose a settlement to always be unhappy because rebels never spawn and other clans are a bit smarter about who they go to war with.
I really like S2, but I miss being able to buy, sell, gift, or demand regions. Plus I don't like the realm divide aspect, especially since it only applies to me. Not these other factions that wind up taking large chunks of the map.
