That is a false dichotomy which is an informal fallacy.
Perhaps if you can suggest a third option so as to demonstrate the dichotomy, instead of simply asserting it and claiming victory, you might find people more willing to trust your honesty and engage you in debate.
Maybe not, but isn't it worth the effort?
