So it doesn't bother you that she has been brainwashed to "like" her disease?
Would it be ok to brainwash her into suicide like the heaven's gate nuts as long as she can speak well before the last day?
The brainwashing is the problem, not the poor girl. Her brainwashing to "like" having a skeletal face and damaged eyesight will probably prevent her from seeking the improvements and care that modern medicine and science can provide for her.
But hey, I guess you don't care if kids don't get medical care because of their god brainwashing... it doesn't bother you!
Easy, now. No, it doesn't bother me if she has found comfort in the form of religion for her terrible disease. I, for one, do not prefer to use god as a comfort blanket, but I don't fault those who might. And if you watched her speech, she talks about how having this disease has shown her who she really is on the inside, which she feels is far more important than what she looks like. I imagine that in her mind, the disease is the thing that opened her eyes to who she really is, and for that she is grateful. And since she's also religious, she says it was her "gift". I don't agree, but it doesn't bother me. She's found a peace some people will never know. Of course, this doesn't mean I'm pro-religious indoctrination, only that the faith of others doesn't inherently bother me.
